The Civils & Groundworks Division is our most established, having been the core service offered by the Taylor family for many of the past 60 years. Today we continue with our vast wealth of knowledge and experience, enabling us to offer a superior service to both our external clients as well as our own EJT Construction and Esmera new homes divisions.

E J Taylor has a well-established reputation for being the best at what we do, our sites are second to none – tidy, well managed and delivered to the highest quality standards. Our tender process is clear, and we understand the delicate nature of pre-order negotiations to enable the commercial objectives to be met for all involved.

Our industry has ever-increasing requirements for better trained staff as we gain a better understanding of how to protect ourselves and those people and entities impacted by our work. We welcome the upskilling of our teams which aligns with the family values that sit at the heart of the EJT ethos. We have a large number of loyal and motivated people with many years’ service behind them. Our people share, and have helped to foster, our values over their time with us.

We employ professional Health, Safety and Environmental advisors who understand the demands on the teams and have worked tirelessly in amongst them to get us to the outstanding H,S&E standards which are so important to us all. The EJT Group has long held an exemplary Health & Safety record which ties into the core ethics of our businesses. Since 2021 we have been awarded the highest Gold standard by RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents). In 2023 we achieved our ISO accreditations for Quality 9001, Environment 14001 and Health & Safety 45001.

As often the largest of the sub-contract packages, we are first on, and last off, site. We are frequently involved at the design stage to guide in our specialism and aid where we can for the follow-on trades. This is an invaluable service for our clients in ensuring no-surprises or unintended variations when we reach site.
